Guy-Robert Porter
Guy’s focus is the assessment of risk to retirees or private family trusts. He works with Mike to explore various prudent strategies designed to accomplish specific needs. Since the goals of each investor are different the amount and type of risk each can face is different.
Prudent risk planning begins with identifying not only the portfolio risks, but also the effects of taxes, inflation and distribution plans and restraints. At each step, the investor has to identify one of the risks and either insure or diversify against it.
In addition to prudent planning, those with risk capital may enjoy a discussion of experimental portfolio design using statistical methods which may allow for the capture of volatility through careful monitoring of portfolio covariance.
Guy is a member of MENSA, the Society for Quantitative Analysis, and the International Association of Financial Engineers. Investment planning and design is his second career, and he brings to it the training and rigor of his scientific training acquired at Washington University and Logan University.
His experience with the markets has ranged from time on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange to day trading to portfolio risk management design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis.
• Forty years of martial arts experience and training
• First Director of Clinical Research at Logan University
• He has won awards for his work in trading, including first place in Larry Levin’s Secrets of Traders Day Trading Competition.
• Domestic and foreign hedge fund managers and large institutions have consulted him to help with their work in volatility arbitrage trading, high velocity currency trading and portable alpha methods.
He continues to explore with Mike the possibility of bringing more risk premium to clients in a low cost, efficient manner.
